Claudia Kocher joined the College of Business faculty in 1993 after earning a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Finance) at Michigan State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration from Marquette University. Dr. Kocher’s primary teaching interest is corporate finance. Research interests include agency problems, debt contracts, pedagogical issues in business education and health care finance. She has published in refereed journals such as Journal of Applied Business Research, Financial Practice and Education, Journal of Financial Education, and Health Care Management Review. Dr. Kocher has been active in school and campus service activities related to curriculum development, assessment and governance. She currently represents the Dearborn campus on the University of Michigan - Michigan Healthy Community Advisory Board. Prior to pursuing graduate studies in business, she worked as a registered nurse in hospital settings for eight years. |
