Joy Beatty, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior. Professor Beatty joined the UMD faculty in 2004 after receiving her doctorate in Organization Studies from Boston College. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and a Master’s degree in Industrial Administration, both from Carnegie Mellon. She has taught at Wayne State, Boston College, Northeastern University, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She received the 2007 New Educator Award from the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, and serves on the editorial board of the Academy of Management Learning and Education. Her research interests are in diversity, gender, and management education. Professor Beatty has written a chapter in the Handbook of Women in Business and Management, and has published articles in Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Inquiry, Organizational Dynamics, Academy of Management Learning and Education, and Employee Responsibilities and Rights Journal. |
