Kamalesh Kumar, Ph.D. is Professor of Business Strategy in the College of Business of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he has been teaching graduate courses in Business Strategy and Managing Strategic Innovation and Change since 1993. He is also a visiting faculty at the University of Padua, Italy and at CUOA, Italy. In addition, he provides his expertise to HIBA, Syria as an expert in Business Strategy. Prof. Kumar has been an educator for nearly two decades at various universities. Prior to joining academia he worked as a Human Resource Manager. Although Prof. Kumar's research interests are interdisciplinary, in recent years, his research activities have focused on examining the environment-strategy linkages and their implications for company performance. His research works have appeared in Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Sciences , Journal of Management, Journal of Health Care Marketing, and Health Care Management Review. Prof. Kumar has authored over 38 articles, has written chapters in four books, and has presented over 75 research papers at various national and international conferences. Prof. Kumar is also the recipient of various research awards and grants for his scholarly works. His research accomplishments have been acknowledged and quoted in the Fortune, Economist, New York Times, and the Wall Street Journals, besides numerous other publications. He has also been listed in the International Directory of Management Scholars, published by Harvard University. Prof. Kumar is actively involved in management education and executive training programs. He interacts on a regular basis with numerous organizations in the Detroit area. He has worked as management consultant and has trained managers and executives of over 50 different organizations. His consulting assignments have been at AT&T, Durr, Nissan, Eaton, Yazaki and St John's Health System. As a professional speaker Prof. Kumar is well received by his audience, who find him to be an effective communicator with an engaging style. |
