iLabs Students to Present Study in Lansing

iLabs to present at Michigan Undergraduate Research Forum

DEARBORN / Jan. 2, 2007---The College of Business is proud to announce that a team of four students in iLabs, the Center for Innovation Research, were one of ten student projects selected to represent the University of Michigan-Dearborn at the Michigan Undergraduate Research Forum.

The students involved in the project are James Zagar, Tim Lin, Jeffery Dancho, and Keith Minetee. Under the coordination of Dr. Karen Strandholm, Dr. Kim Schatzel, and Timothy Davis, the students will present their research -- The Entrepreneurial Cities Index.

The Entrepreneurial Cities Index is a research tool that measures factors that influence specifically entrepreneurial growth and, more generally, economic development at the community level. Entrepreneurship has been found to be an important factor affecting job creation, a significant regional economic driver, and a key tool in the diversification of the economy.

The students will prepare a poster presentation that will be displayed in the Rotunda of the State Capitol Building in Lansing on March 28, 2007. Students from the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor and Flint campuses will be present, as well as students from Michigan State University and Wayne State University.

All of us at the College of Business congratulate the efforts of these iLabs students and are proud of their achievement.
