Allard Family Trust Endowed Scholarship: In order to be eligible for the Allard Family Trust Endowed Scholarship, the student must have either junior or senior standing in the College of Business and also be interested in owning or starting a business. The maximum scholarship award is $2,500 per year. Don Allard (’64 BBA), from one of the earliest classes at COB, remembers not only that the coursework was being very challenging, but also that it prepared him extremely well for his career as founder and President of Moreno Valley Chevrolet in Moreno Valley, CA. His advice to students is that it takes more than academics to be successful, and that interning and other types of experiential learning are extremely valuable.

Bruce Klimek Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship was established in 1985 in memory of Bruce Klimek (’83 BBA) by his parents, Ernest and Mary Klimek. Scholarships are awarded to junior or senior students majoring in accounting who show exceptional promise in the profession of accounting.

Dr. Nancy J. Foran Endowed Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Nancy J. Foran, who passed away in 2002. Dr. Foran was a member of the COB faculty specializing in taxation. Each year, awards of at least $500 are given to two outstanding undergraduate students majoring in finance and/or accounting. Eligible students must have an interest in tax accounting. As part of the scholarship application, the student must provide a brief description as to how the Dr. Nancy J. Foran Endowed Memorial Scholarship will help the student accomplish his/her goals as these goals relate to the student's interest in tax accounting.

Rebecca Ann Campbell Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship was established in 2007 by Rebecca’s parents, William and Doris Campbell, in memory of their daughter, Rebecca (’89 BSA). “Rebecca’s degree from UM-Dearborn was the starting point for her career in information technology”, said Rebecca’s parents. “We deeply miss her and want her memory preserved through this gift.” The Rebecca Ann Campbell Memorial Scholarship provides awards based on need and merit to students in any discipline in the College of Business.

Hartmann Family Entrepreneurship Scholarship: In order to be eligible for the Hartman Family Entrepreneurship Scholarship, the successful applicant must have an interest in entrepreneurial studies and business ownership. In addition, the successful applicant must be a Michigan resident enrolled either full-time (12 or more credit hours for undergraduate students/nine or more credit hours for graduate students) or part-time (six or more hours for undergraduate students/four or more credit hours for graduate students) in the College of Business. Applicants should be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above for undergraduate students or 6.0 or above for graduate students. As part of the application, the student must provide a one-page statement expressing his/her interest in entrepreneurial studies and business ownership focusing on how the Hartmann Family Entrepreneurship Scholarship will help the student accomplish his/her academic and career goals. Successful applicants may receive a scholarship award up to a total of $1500 in any academic year to be applied toward tuition, books, and/or fees. The award may be in the amount of $750 renewable for one semester with the second semester award contingent on the recipient's satisfactory cumulative grade point average and good standing within the University and College of Business.

The ITM Scholarship: is awarded to students accepted in and pursuing degrees in Information Technology Management. Each scholarship provides $1,000 towards tuition; students must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours). Students must have taken ITM310 and earned at least a B in that course. Consideration will be based on scholastic achievement, qualities of leadership, and students for whom a “glass ceiling” is a concern.

J. Stewart Linden Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship was established by J. Stewart Linden, a Michigan CPA interested in providing financial support for students majoring in accounting. Mr. Linden, who passed away in 1988, was the founding partner of Linden, Klain, Israel, and Ross. Scholarships are awarded to students majoring in accounting with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, junior or senior standing with 12-15 hours of UM-D accounting work. Students must be planning to take the CPA exam.

The Ford Advanced Education Program (FAEP) Scholarship: is awarded each summer to two incoming juniors. Each scholarship provides $1,000 per year for two years, subject to continued eligibility. Winners will meet Ford representatives in the fall. Criteria include leadership skills, interest in the automotive industry, and a minimum GPA of 3.20. Veterans are particularly encouraged to apply as their experience shows evidence of leadership skills.

Victor Streeter Endowed Management Information Systems Scholarship: This scholarship awards at least one annual $500 scholarship to a MIS student. Each Winter Term, the Office of Records and Advising Office will identify the top five College of Business MIS students (including those who graduated in the prior calendar year). This information will be presented to the full-time MIS faculty to verify eligibility and make a recommendation to the COB Scholarship Committee.

The College of Business Faculty Initiative Scholarship: This scholarship is funded by donations from faculty in the College of Business in recognition of the difficulties some students are facing during the current recession. Recipients must be juniors or seniors in the College of Business with good academic standing and a minimum of 27 COB credit hours. Completion of the FAFSA is required as financial need is a consideration. Preference will be given to Michigan residents and scholarships will range from $500 to $1000. A personal statement should explain how the downturn in the Michigan economy
affected your ability to pursue your studies and how the scholarship will help you achieve your education goals.
